Now that we have been in business for a couple months (!) I thought I would take a moment to answer some frequently asked questions.
Are you a coffee shop and do you have a store front?
Yes and no. Our non-traditional shop is located in the Lydia Pinkham Building in Lynn, MA. This is where all the green coffee gets roasted up. We invite you to come visit us on Saturdays 9 AM - 5 PM to see what's going on -- there's always a fresh pot of coffee brewed up and we encourage you to try some free samples and watch the roaster in action. It's a tasting room. For coffee.
Where does your coffee come from?
Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Papua New Guinea, Sumatra...all over the world. We work with specialty coffee importers to source our coffees from these countries, and are constantly testing new samples to add to our lineup!
When will I receive my online order?
You may have noticed we have roasting and shipping dates on the product pages in our online store. That's because we only roast coffee to order because we believe coffee is best enjoyed fresh. If you place an order during the week, we will roast it on Sunday and ship it to you Monday. Occasionally, if we are roasting for an event or wholesale customer, you may get lucky and receive your order earlier.
How long does coffee stay fresh?
Coffee is a long-shelf life product and can be stored in a cool, dry place for many months. However, it is packed with volatile aromatics that are naturally lost over time once the coffee is roasted. Most coffees begin to noticeably lose their flavor after two weeks and we recommend storing it sealed up in the fridge or freezer if you know you won't be using it for a while. With that said, some coffees taste great after a month or two, so don't go throwing anything out!
